Project: PD baby social app
Project Duration: 4.5 months
Year:2023
Role: UI UX designer
Responsibilities:

Background:
The PD Baby Social App is a platform for parents who seek to enhance their child's social skills amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure the safety of all participants, the platform requires the submission of physical condition and vaccine proof prior to scheduled playdates.
Target audience:
Age: Between 24 to 48 years old’s parent.
Have kids/or babies between 0~6 years old.
Problem Statement:
Due to covid-19, it’s hard to let babies or kids develop their social skills through social activities. Parents would be afraid to let their babies or kids have contact with others since they don't know if others have been fully vaccinated.
Project goal and solution:
Design a tool that helps all parents to eliminate their concerns and worries during the pandemic.

Design process:

Research:
Based on internet and survey collect( 10+ user)
Playdates have many health benefits for kids — physically, socially, mentally, and emotionally.
With children under 5 still not eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine before mid of 2022, families with young kids may continue to find themselves in a more difficult position in terms of socializing than families with older, vaccinated children.
Parents think the Covid-19 differently. Some parents care, but others do not, especially after vaccines have come out.
Over 50% of the family prefer to stay home during a pandemic.
User interview:
Let’s see the parents’ feedback:
Less people in one place
Playdates have many health benefits for kids — physically, socially, mentally, and emotionally.
Not feeling well
All parents are afraid their children will be infected by other people.
Friends
Most of the parents are using chat app to contact families they familiar.
Never used social app
All of the interviewers have never used a real social app to help their child have playdates.
No virus place
During the pandemic, all interviewers were eager to have a virus-free place.

Persona:
After conducting research, develop a persona for the key audience.
Although users may have varying behaviors and motivations, their ultimate goal remains the same. By analyzing their goals and frustrations, I create a persona to better understand their problems and provide assistance.

Empathy Map
Gather data from the interview to construct an empathy map that will foster a comprehensive understanding of the user.
It's important to recognize and respect people's emotional and physical needs. Gain a better understanding of how individuals perceive, comprehend, and engage with their surroundings. Take into account the effects of various situations on people's lives within the contexts being examined.

Test
Usability test feedback
Usability test round 1
-
The user mentioned that the limit on the number of people could be add when there is a host event, because if there is no limit on the number of people, it will become a large group of people all going to the same place.
-
The user mentions there is no delete button at the friend page/ list. It would be better to add a delete function.
-
A few users doubt the safety issue. If there is no join request, everyone can join directly without organizer review, causing random people to join will raise doubts about security.
-
Profile page no title could confuse.
-
The user said they are the organizer but don't want to share the location with nearby people, and there is no stop share location feature.
Usability test round 2
-
If using a smartphone after added, no added icon shown as the PC web base did. Only return icon available.
-
Requiring more function in chat rooms.
-
More options for profile setting.
-
No option to change info/bio.
